Like the lazy rolling waves

that spill slow-motion-like upon the beach,

Life sometimes takes awhile to be.

In the open ocean,

even for violent seas,

There’s not much forward motion in waves,

its more back and forth, almost circular.

What does move forward is the energy,

and its the winds that cause it,

and the seas that carry it.

— A function of air and water.

Children learn a lot like that.

Their energy, their vitality are constant things.

But they learn in circular, 

sort of back and forth ways.

It is their energy that moves them forward, 

events that are their medium,

and parents, the wind that carries their lives.

— A function of love and care.
